Summer camps at Bellwether for children ages 4 to 13:

For Children Ages 4-8:

BellwetherSummer!
Children will explore through both play and guided experiences in our dynamic and creative two-week camp sessions:

Bellwether Summer! provides unique learning experiences for children in a comforting and inviting setting.  The staff at Bellwether Summer! work to create valuable learning opportunities that foster creativity and exploration while allowing for structure and predictability.  The camp include such activities as: play-based learning experiences indoors and out, reflection meetings, lunch time, reading opportunities and LOTS of fun.  Happy Summer!

Bake IT! (June 18-29) A little of this and a pinch of that!  For two weeks campers will make delicious and nutritious foods to share with one another. We’ll use local ingredients while following some recipes and even making up some of our own.

Build IT! (July 9-20) Did you remember your blueprints?  Young architects will work together to create a variety of structures in this two-week camp.  From wood and nails to tape and toothpicks we will learn math concepts while designing and constructing everything from castles to domino runs!

Move IT! (July 23-Aug. 3) How could we get that from here to there?  Let’s find out!  Whether they throw, toss, sweep, propel, project, kick or whatever else they can think of campers will explore concepts like inertia, velocity and force in fun and interesting ways.

Cost:
8:00 - 2:30 = $450/session
8:00 - 5:30 = $550/session

For Children Ages 8-13:

The Da Vinci Experience
Children will explore exciting art & science themes in depth in these creative one-week camp sessions:
The Da Vinci Experience Science & Arts Camps will bring science and art ALIVE for all campers! Inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's integration of art and science, children will explore exciting themes in depth through hands-on art activities, science experiments and outdoor games. Using a child-centered curriculum, our experienced educators encourage critical thinking, problem solving and team building with an emphasis on safety and fun. All camps are one-week. 

Fantastic Flight (June 18-22) Explore the theories of flight as you send your kites and flying machines up, up and away! Experiment like Leonardo Da Vinci with lift, thrust and gravity.

Space Station Vacation (June 25-29) Discover what it would be like to live and work on a huge orbiting lab. Build your own space station model and try hands-on experiments like the astronauts do.

Lightning, Lava and Landslides (July 9-13) Construct a volcano, see why earthquakes quake, and make a tornado in a bottle! Explore severe weather patterns and make your own weather station.

Crime Lab (July 16-20) Learn how detectives solve crimes! Find fingerprints, analyze fibers and soil, and experiment with chromatography as you work with a team to solve mysteries.

Eyeballs & Goo - What's Inside You (July 23-27) Experiment to find out how our bodies work and how to keep them healthy. Listen to hard-working hearts, make models of lungs, learn how the senses work and much more. Discover hidden worlds indside the human body with a microscope. 

Critters & Creatures (July 30-Aug 3) Explore our local environment to learn about birds and other animals up-close. Includes hands-on science experiments, art projects, and outdoor fun and games. 

Cost:
